Musical Theatre Virtual Camp

The ongoing pandemic restrictions have changed things for everyone, but also
given us the opportunity to create a new way of learning and making musical
theater together.

We are excited to announce the Musical Artists Theatre Virtual Camp.
Although nothing can fully replace our usual camp experience, please consider
what we can now offer you.

The camp will meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for three weeks.

30-minute interactive classes in Acting, Singing, Dancing and Theater Arts will
be taught live at 9, 10, 11 and noon.  Each day will start with a live broadcast
to the entire camp at 8:30 before campers break into groups divided by age.

Led by our popular instructors, the classes are designed as a springboard to
propel each child into an array of activities, investigations, exercises and
creative fun to occupy them throughout the day.  Campers will have access to
multiple on-line resources such as warm-ups, instructional videos,
demonstrations, music, games, stories and patterns enabling them to learn,
practice and make things on their own.

Family members are encouraged to follow along and work with the camper on
their songs, dances and crafts.

Our veteran counselors will be available for one-on-one guidance with your
child after camp hours.

Every day will have a special fun theme such as Character Day, to show off
the camper’s individual creativity in costuming, theatrical design and stagecraft.

Campers will work toward submitting their own video performances, which will
be compiled and edited into a final presentation streamed on the final day of
camp.

Groups will be limited to about 10 campers, ensuring that each child receives
maximal attention, in and out of the spotlight, and be featured in our final
“show”.  There will be only four groups in all, for a total enrollment of
approximately 40 children.

Parents will need to provide common materials such as paper, scissors,
crayons or coloring pencils and, of course, imagination.  Basic requirements
are a camera-equipped computer or cell phone with a reliable internet
connections, and preferably headphones, microphone and computer printer.

Dates:  Session 1, July 6 – 24
            Session 2, July 27 – August 14

Price:  $250 for either three-week camp.
Additional siblings in the same household, $125.

We hope this virtual camp will meet some of your needs this summer.  We’ve
put a lot of work into creating it, and believe you will find it worthwhile providing
your child an opportunity to sing, dance, act, learn and have fun.
